A four arm multicentre randomised double-blind placebo-controlled trial was undertaken to compare the effect and safety of recombinant streptokinase (rSK) at two dose levels (100,000U and 200,000U) combined with or without sodium salicylate (SS)-containing suppositories with placebo for the treatment of acute haemorrhoidal disease.
